Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you are seeking me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves. Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.” - John 6:26-27 (ESV)

Miracles - Walking on Water

Join us at Brisbane Central as we continue our series, Miracles. This week Pastor Neli talks about the miracle of Jesus walking on water. Have you ever set off without Christ and and become overwhelmed by the storm?  Do you recognise Jesus in your life and what He is calling you to do?  If your “boat” is your life, can you say that Jesus is in control of your life or have you pushed off without Him? How will get you through the storm? 

The sea became rough because a strong wind was blowing. When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were frightened.But he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.” - John 6:18-20 (ESV)

When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea, got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. The sea became rough because a strong wind was blowing.  When they had rowed about three or four miles,[a] they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were frightened. But he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.” Then they were glad to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going. - John 6:16-21 (ESV)

And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, “Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost.”  So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten.  When the people saw the sign that he had done, they said, “This is indeed the Prophet who is to come into the world!”  Perceiving then that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, Jesus withdrew again to the mountain by himself. - John 6:12-15 (ESV)

Miracles - 5 + 2 = 5000

If you were given the responsibility to feed a large amount of people, how would you do it and what would you serve? Is the God that you walk with, enough? When God is your daily living bread, you will always have enough. How will you steward that which God has blessed you with? Do you trust God with your bread to be your overflowing source?
