The Questions - God in the world of Skepticism

Join us this week at Brisbane Central as we commence our new series, The Questions: Hard Questions of Faith. This week Pastor Neli encourages us to have wisdom to walk with Christ. He reminds us that any philosophy apart from Christ is found to be empty. With Christ there is promise of richness in spirit, in relationship, in how we live in accordance with His will, and to overcome circumstances. We can either center our existence on ourselves, or center our existence on God, and understanding who He is. 
  

For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not seen me face to face, that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery, which is Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. The Questions - A Ready Defence

This week Pastor Neli helps us to remember that the truth is not a fact, the truth is a person and his name is Jesus Christ, for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. And as followers of Christ, our lives must reflect the truth we preach. We must learn to study the truth, present the truth, and live the truth.
  

But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.

The Questions - What About Origin?

Join us this week at Brisbane Central as we commence our new series, The Questions: Hard Questions of Faith.  This week Pastor Neli helps us to remember that God, the ultimate Creator, designed life with a divine and intentional purpose. He breathed life into all of creation, and He invites us to breathe in His presence—through prayer, worship, and moments of stillness—so that we can exhale His love and purpose into the world. Every breath you take is a gift, reminding you of His goodness and empowering you to live out His mission, sharing His life and light with others.

 

Then God said, “Let us make man n our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. - Genesis 1:26-27 (ESV)

Every Day is Father's Day

This week Pastor Neli guides us to remember that truly knowing God goes beyond just knowing about Him—it’s about building a personal, intimate relationship with Him. Just as a dove descending on your shoulder would require you to walk more carefully, be mindful to walk through life with an awareness of the Holy Spirit's presence. Slow down, be still, and let God's love and guidance fill your heart. As you reflect on His love, know that He calls you His beloved, takes pleasure in who you are, and desires a deep, personal connection with you. 

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. - 1 John 3:1 (ESV)

Going POP - Proximity over Position

This week Pastor Neli helps us to remember that true worship goes beyond songs; it's about offering your whole life as a living sacrifice to God. As you lay down your burdens and surrender to His will, trust that He is transforming you by renewing your mind. Whether you're facing dark moments or carrying heavy burdens, know that you are not alone.  As you walk in humility and rise in His strength, be encouraged that God's perfect will is unfolding in your life. Stay grounded in His grace, and let His joy be your strength.

For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. - Galatians 6:8-10 (ESV)

Oaks of Righteousness

This week at we are joined by special guest Sandra Sellmer-Kersten from Elijah House Ministries as we are encouraged that God calls each of us to stand firm in our integrity, and to be real in our walk with Christ. As we navigate our daily lives, let’s strive to be "Oaks of Righteousness," grounded in honesty, integrity, and justice. Remember our true strength comes from being the same person in private as we are in public. And even when the task seems overwhelming, ask God for the strength to save "just one more." Keep this spirit of authenticity knowing that through your actions, others will see Jesus clearly and be drawn to Him. Be encouraged—God is using you to make a difference!

Starting Well, Running Well, Finishing Well

This week we are joined by special guest Sandra Sellmer-Kersten from Elijah House Ministries to help us navigate our daily challenges and to remember that God has called and anointed us for the race we’re running. We all have been given everything we need to fulfil our purpose. Don’t let fear hide you from your calling. Instead, trust in God's provision and face each challenge with the integrity and courage He has instilled in you. Stand firm in your faith, knowing that God is with you every step of the way, transforming and guiding you to finish well.

 

Then the Spirit of the Lord will rush upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man. Now when these signs meet you, do what your hand finds to do, for God is with you. - 1 Samuel 10:6-7 (ESV)

Relationship Goals - Tender Teflon

This week Pastor Tina encourages us by the truth that God is deeply invested in every part of your journey, from the foundations of your childhood to the complexities of adulthood. Even when life’s experiences have left cracks in your trust and relationships, remember that God, the ultimate healer, can mend and rebuild your heart. Lean into His love, knowing that He is both your foundation and your guide, helping you navigate relationships with grace, wisdom, and a tender heart. You are being made new in Christ, and through Him, you can find the strength to forgive, to love, and to live with true confidence.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. - 2 Corinthians 5:17-19 (ESV)

Relationship Goals - Love in the Age of A.I.

This week Pastor Neli reminds us of the importance of cultivating authentic, intergenerational relationships within our faith community. We are encouraged to be genuinely present for one another, balancing space and support as led by the Holy Spirit. Whether through sharing meals, supporting each other's endeavours, or simply being a listening ear, let's strive to be useful vessels for God's glory. As we build canopies of trust and let our guard down with the right people, we create a safe space for healing and growth. Let's embrace the challenge to love deeply, serve faithfully, and foster genuine connections that reflect Christ's love.

 

Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels.  And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil,  correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth,  and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will. - 2 Timothy 2:23-26 (ESV)

Relationship Goals - The Four Loves

This week Pastor Neli helps us to navigate the different types of love God places in our lives. True friends are a gift from God, walking with us through life's storms and helping us build stormproof lives. Cherish the deep bonds of friendship, the oneness with a spouse, and the unconditional, sacrificial love that God has for you. Let God's agape love be the foundation of all your relationships, guiding you to love others as He first loved you. Embrace the assurance that you are deeply loved, cherished, and pleasing to God, and let this truth transform how you engage with those around you.

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. - 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (ESV)
