Beneath The Surface - Facing The Shadow
Monday Jul 29, 2019
Monday Jul 29, 2019
Join us today as we continue our series, Beneath The Surface. Henry Peterson helps us to dig deep to identify our shadow. Our shadow is the side of us that can erupt into many forms - sinful behaviours, outbursts of anger, resentment, lust, greed, bitterness, even vanity. The shadow is the most damaged but hidden side of us that comes out when it gets triggered. Are you aware of your shadow and what it looks like?
So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. ”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.- 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 (ESV)

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:18-20 (ESV)

Join us today for our current series, Beneath The Surface. This week Pastor Neli talks about the walls and the struggles that we all face, and how God has taught us to walk through these walls. A wall is when our will meets God’s will, face to face. Walls can divide us from other people but we need to discover what these walls are. How do we strengthen ourselves in The Lord when we are facing the wall, and how do we go through that wall?
David's two wives also had been taken captive, Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail the widow of Nabal of Carmel. And David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God. - 1 Samuel 30:5-6 (ESV)

Sunday Jul 07, 2019
Join us as we continue our new series, Beneath The Surface. This week Mark and Adele Dellit speak to us about Sabbath rest. Do you tend to lean on your own ability when you're busy? At what cost are you sacrificing your relationship with God for the sake of your busyness? We need to slow down for a loving union with God. We need to slow down and make room for Jesus.
“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. - Exodus 20:8-11 (ESV)

Wouldn’t you rather hold steadfast to the truth of God?
Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. - Ephesians 4:31-32 (ESV)
