Continuing this week in our Sermon On The Mount series, we have a special guest speaker.  Pastor Jonathan Mok from International City Church delivers a great message about The Lord's Prayer.  Ps Jonathan breaks down this passage into important areas to reflect on.  Through this prayer, we give glory to God through His Name, His Kingdom and His will.  We understand how praying like this can address man's needs such as our physical needs, relationships and spiritual warfare. God already knows what we need but He wants more from us.  Our Father longs for a deep relationship with us.

Pray like this:

Our Father in heaven,

may your name be kept holy.

May your Kingdom come soon.

May your will be done on earth,

as it is in heaven.

Give us today the food we need,

and forgive us our sins,

as we have forgiven those who sin against us.

And don’t let us yield to temptation,

but rescue us from the evil one.

Next in our Sermon On The Mount series, The Prayer of the Hypocrite.  Hypocrites live for the spotlight and they invest time in what is seen rather than that which is unseen.  What about us?  Are there times we are more focused on what others think of us?  What about our prayer life? It is more important to "be with" God than to "communicate with" God.  There needs to be a communion with God.  Let us be reminded each day to fill our hearts with the presence of God.

A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of

We continue our series on Sermon On The Mount by this week discussing the importance of Giving.  Pastor Neli guides us through Matthew Chapter 6 as we see the biblical importance of Giving. Always should we have in our mind whether or not our actions will be helpful.  Are what we are doing helpful to others or are our actions more inwards thinking?  Are we giving privately, missionally and sacrificially? 

“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Pastor Neli this week continues our series of Sermon On The Mount but this week is all about getting to our place of secret to have an in depth relationship with God.  Every time Jesus wanted to pray to God He went to a hillside or on top a mountain to be close with His Father in secret.  Do we have a secret place?  Where do we go to be close to God?  The secret to your success in life is the success in your secret life.

And your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you.

Sermon On The Mount Part 3.  I Am The Law.  This week Pastor Neli unpacks Matthew 5:7-48 and shows us the intention of the law written in The Old Testament.  The New Testament is The Old Testament fully revealed and shows Jesus did not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill the law. Jesus is clarifying what was already written.  He is not changing the law, but going to the heart of why the law exists.  We must not be challenged to fulfill the law, but to be guided to the one who has fulfilled it - Jesus Christ.

A new series begins this week.  Sermon On The Mount.  Possibly one of Jesus' most popular sermons.  Tune in this week as Ps Neli goes through Matthew Chapter 5:1-12 and listen to how Jesus is going to change the way we used to think.  This week is about taking the high road.  When Jesus spoke to the crowd he positioned himself high on the mount, and his disciples followed Him because they didn't want to become a "crowd" Christian, they wanted to have a deeper relationship with the Son of God.  This is what we must do.  We must say, "I refuse to be part of the crowd.  I want to walk with You"

Small Things BIG Difference series concludes this week.  A strong topic to remember and have in our hearts as the days go on.  Love is a Verb.  PS Neli will teach us to ABIDE in God's love.  Christians live for God and in loving God, we want to live by His commands but there are things the enemy will use to detach us from the vine God has placed us on.  The Enemy will Disconnect us, Distract us, Discourage us.  But to be fruitful we must stay connected on the vine.  We must Remain Connected, Remain Focused, Remain Encouraged.  Our relationship with God is worth fighting for.  

Part Four of our Small Things BIG Difference series. This week Pastor Neli Talks about coming Up To Bat.  Baptizing And Teaching where we baptize and teach people about the word of God.  But to reach those God has sent us to, we must first let go of what's comfortable so we can reach out to those with difference perspectives and interests.   It is by doing this we are able to baptize them with water and build in them a new relationship with God.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Part 3 in our Small Things BIG Difference series.  This week we truly find out who we're with and who is with us always.  In the Great Commission Jesus Christ tells us He will be with us always, until the end of age.  Jesus wants to dwell within us, not just visit us.  The way we live our lives are based on the beliefs we hold in our hearts.  So let us be empowered by the Holy Spirit and dedicate our lives to Christ Jesus.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

Part 2 in our Small Things BIG Difference series and Ps Neli reaches out for us to listen, Come and Go.  Come in the presence on The Lord and go to where He has called us to go.  Coming is invitational but going is a commandment.  The Lord has already called us to go out and make disciples but how many other times have we either ignored our calling because we are too comfortable in our comfort zone.  Let us step out in faith and continue to do the great works God has planned for us.
