The Antioch Strategy - God’s Grace at Work

Christianity transforms into an engaging adventure as you actively perceive limitations as God's orchestration. Actively reflect on how God is working in your life.

News of this reached the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. When he arrived and saw what the grace of God had done, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts. He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord. Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. You can be encouraged today to align our plans with God's design and understand that a purposeful and God-glorifying life requires intentional prayer and consideration of the cost.

For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish. - Luke 14:28-20 (ESV)

Go - The Planning Place

Join us at Brisbane Central as we continue our current series, GO. This week Pastor Neli reminds us of the mission mandate to spread the gospel to every nation. Jesus is depicted as the True Vine and the Father as the vine dresser, with an importance of abiding in Christ to bear fruit. There is a need to guard our heart, pay attention to relationships as part of the entrusted flock, and remember our calling while actively fulfilling God's plans. Trust God with what you can't control, and actively pursue what you can, recognising the people around you as part of the flock entrusted to your care.

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. - John 15:1-2 (ESV)

GO - Build Up or Build Out

Join us as we commence a new series, GO. This week Pastor Neli explores the biblical narrative of people settling in Shinar and building a city and tower to make a name for themselves. The key contrast is drawn between constructing self-glorifying monuments and God's desire for Spirit-empowered movements. Be cautioned against being individuals who talk without substance but instead be encouraged to plan for the future and allow God to shape those plans according to His will. Focus on Spirit-empowered movements rather than creating monuments of personal achievement. 

And the Lord said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another's speech.” So the Lord dispersed them from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city. - Genesis 11:6-8 (ESV)

How To Make - The Master’s Piece

Are you building according to God's design? Unless the Lord is actively involved in our work, our labor is in vain and can lead to unnecessary anxiety. It’s vital we rely on God's strength when building within His will. Be encouraged to seek God's guidance in your work.  Are you building what God has called you to build?

This week Pastor Neli emphasises our divine call towards creativity and craftsmanship.  Every individual, regardless of their occupation or cultural background, is called to make beautiful things for the glory of God. God has equipped you for this purpose. Be encouraged that your potential can impact your city through your creativity and craftsmanship. You have access to the Creator within you.  Be empowered to create beauty that glorifies God. Is what you are making with your life beautifully, skilfully, and collaboratively made?

The Lord said to Moses, “See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, to work in every craft. - Exodus 31:1-5 (ESV)

How To Make - Make Good Stuff

This week Pastor Neli goes into the significance of creation and the role of awe in our lives.  As humans we were intentionally created by God to work and cultivate the Earth, connecting our work to God's divine plan. There is a uniqueness of the Bible's creation story, as it portrays creation as a masterpiece crafted by an artist, God, without the conflict and rivalry found in other faiths. How is God’s presence driving your purpose?

And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so.  And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind.
